TITLE WHO WILL BE MY DOCTOR?
Jack opened his diary and was surprised to see four visits scheduled to doctor’s offices that afternoon. He was hoping to go out for a ball game and enjoy his day off from the stress of work. Amy needed her shots, Mum had to see the gynecologist, Bob had to have his cast removed and as usual Grandma wanted to talk with the heart specialist. “How I wish all these activities could take place simultaneously in the same office,” thought Jack. Now he would have to drive around the town to get these services. Several hours of waiting and gallons of gas were consumed before the family was back home for a late supper. Gone are the days when one doctor treated all types of illnesses and did surgeories too. The doctor and nurse work closely together as a team to treat patients. The nurse is available to assist the doctor and patient at all times. Now with specializations and increase in knowledge everything is departmentalized. For one ailment you can move around from one specialist to another depending on how much time and money is on your hand.
Parents always aspire the best for their children. During the school years they are watched carefully to see what their aptitudes are. If they excel in biology and physiology they are advised to take up medical studies in college. From time immemorial the doctor and nurse in a community have been received with respect. They have good jobs and help people in time of need. They are high up on the salary scale, and will never be without a job. Because babies are born everywhere and everyone needs a doctor sometime or other. Senior citizens are in and out of the doctor’s office with their failing health and extra time on hand to socialize in the waiting area. Some seniors feel better and are cheered up by just talking to their doctor or nurse. Therapists in different special areas are often called to supplement the doctor’s treatment and render help when needed. All said and done you get what you pay for. If you want the best treatment be ready to pay the price.
Jesus Christ when He was here on earth, performed miracles which really amazed the people. He did it to glorify the Father not Himself. The raising of Jairus’s daughter in her house , the widow’s son of Maine on the way to his funeral and Lazerus from the grave after he was buried for four days are indeed acts of God. Lepers were cleansed, the blind received sight and Peter’s mother-in-law was healed of her fever. These are just a few examples from the Bible of the miracles of Jesus as our great physician.Math.4:23.(KJV). His healing power is available to us even today. He has promised to heal our diseases and restore our failing health. In James 5:15&16(KJV) we are exhorted to pray for one another and confess our sins so that we may be healed. Our God is able to do miracles even today so let us approach Him with a clear conscience and holy hands. When we ask in faith He will give us what we need.
