Picture the scene!
The year is A.D 26 and Jesus, for the first moment in time had returned to Galilee. He is covered from top to toe with the Holy Spirit. Imagine if you can the joy of telling about his father’s business,
It was here in Galilee, Jesus chose his twelve disciples. They were as follows:
Simon, (Christ renamed Simon as Simon Peter). James, (James The Great) John, Phillip, (of Bethsaida.) Bartholomew. Matthew, (who was a publican).
Thomas, (soon nicknamed Doubting Thomas.) James, ( James the Less, also called Thaddaeus or Lebbaeus) Judas, (Jude), Simon Zelotes (the Canaanite.) and
Judas Iscariot. (who eventually betrayed Christ.)
Andrew and Simon were brothers, James and John were also brothers. Jesus taught in bits, he never taught a whole lesson in one go. This was the way the rabbi’s of Galilee taught as well.
His first miracle didn’t actually take place until A.D.30, yet his teaching began in A.D.26. There’s so much in the bible that we don’t know, but what’s in the bible are the important lessons God wanted us to know. His first miracle was of-course turning water into wine.
Jesus taught us to love those close by, even if they do wrong to us. His disciples asking questions, for instance in Matthew18:22 tells:
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?”
“No!” Jesus replied, “seventy times seven!
Jesus never really had a crowd around him until A.D.30 when he began doing miracles and people had seen him heal the lame. It is also through his forgiveness for our sins, that we should fear him. His examples are how all of us as individuals are suppose to live. Our excuse could be that we are fully human, but so was Jesus, but such a way that we differ from him is that he was also God.
Jesus was the greatest teacher who lived upon our earth!
