Just a minute or two more, I thought to myself; just to be here. I strained a little to free one who’s gently curved members had been entangled by some poisonous vine and was starving for life from it’s own source; weakened and somewhat wilted I thought, “you look thirsty”.
There is a crystal clear brook, whose source is deep and cool; it supplies life to the fertile earth in this peaceful place and to the lively fruit that drink its treasure. Still I couldn’t help this one quench its thirst; it has to wait for restoration from the vine and then its branch. When I come again, I’ll seek it out to measure its progress.
But for now, to look about and see my garden blooming, with each brilliant blossom showing off its beauty and its fragrance; I see all my work and sacrifice has become a wondrous thing, lively and wonderful to behold!
When this season comes to a close, I’ll gather together the bundles, according to their fragrance, and bring them into my home. I’ll separate them from the tangling ivy, choke weed and thorns for burning and harvest the precious fruit in specially prepared jars of crystal; to treasure.
