I listen and often sing along to music most of my day every day. Sometimes I decide to sing harmony. Other times I just want to sit back and pick out all of the different instruments. But most of the time, I sing the melody.

Melody is the focus of a song. It is the main song within the song. A popular melody when hummed can be easily recognized. Dictionary.com describes melody as “the principal part in a harmonic composition; the air.” No matter what part of the song you sing or listen to, it all compliments the melody which is the focus of the entire song.

What is your focus? Is the melody of your life family, friends, or material possessions? What should be the focus of our lives? What should be the thing that everything else compliments?

Should not God be our focus, our melody? Should not everything else in our lives exist to compliment Him? God needs to be our everything and our everything needs to revolve around Him. If so, our life will be a beautiful composition that compliments God in every aspect of our lives.

God must be our melody and anything else must focus attention on Him. Our music, our work, our play, and our relationships must compliment Him. This is how to live a life of glory to God.

God is the melody of our lives and we must be focused on Him.
