Years ago they were born to take over your life
The shadows would grow when you opened the door
But fade into nothing they were easy to ignore
Taking care of the problem in each point in time
Would have made it much easier in committing the crime
Yet we put off today for tomorrow will come
They grow bigger and bigger and you’re still on the run
Now the day’s finally here they’ve outgrown their small place
Stepping out in the light there’s no mercy no grace
So you turn to the one you’ve heard so much about
Hoping that he’ll help you but your heart has its doubt
As there’s nothing you can give him except for yourself
And you’ll feel that you’re nothing in spite of his help
So you get on your knees your hands high in the air
Tears come to your eyes as you start your first prayer
You tell him of the first time you let something go
Now it’s full grown and scary and you’re tired of the blows
Then you tell him your fears of this family of bones
And he gives you a scripture about throwing a stone
So you get off your knees find the bible you’ve forgot
And locate the woman that had sinned and was caught
When Jesus stooped down and drew a line in the sand
He did not look up when telling woman and man
To the one that had no sin they could throw that first stone
When he stood up he found they were totally alone
He forgave her the sins she had committed as a wife
And you begin to realize he’d do the same for your life
You feel your heart lifting as the songs start to flow
And you slay every skeleton though the timing is slow
Now the shadows you see when you open those doors
Are only clothes in the closet no less and no more
