Ahhhhh! There it is again, that flow, that force, that all-encompassing sound. It resides everywhere. We feel it as it rushes through the city streets. We hear it in the stillness of the rolling fields. It is called “melody”, and it is a part of us all.
It can rock our world with a rhythmic beat, or rock us to sleep with its soft, soothing voice. Without it no music could be established, no note would be played, and no song could be sung. It can catch you, it can hook you, and it can draw you into its existence. We move to it. We sway to it. It is mesmerizing, and our minds become addicted to it. Can we actually live without it?
Melody. It is born from the beating of each heart. It is sustained by the breath of life. It sails upon the wind and passes from generation to generation. Melody is ageless, tireless and resilient. It is renewed continuously. Its ingredients are mixed, stirred and made fresh daily. It is bold, and it is subtle. It is harsh, and it is inviting.
Melody. Thank God for it. It comes in many forms. It is the foundation of all harmony. It reaches out in peace, because it is at peace with itself. It carries a vibrant pitch of unity, for it is in perfect oneness. Melody carries no restraints and transcends all boundaries. From the depths of the ocean to the heights of heaven, in its purest form, it worships our Creator.
