I’ve always taken life as it comes. Yes, I’ve planned for things, and had my hopes and dreams, but nothing seems to work out as planned.
My fairy tale dreams of a perfect marriage after the perfect wedding vanished in a haze of whiskey-induced inebriation by my then-husband.
But not all drams end bad. Sometimes life just doesn’t go the way you planned. I’ve always hated that question in job interviews: “Where do you see yourself in five years?”
How the heck do I know?! I never anticipated a divorce, or a relocation. I didn’t think I’d get married again. (Thankfully, my husband is a dream-come-true). I never thought I’d get breast cancer.
How can you have a vision for your life? It all proves to me that only God’s vision counts. His future for my life is what matters. I have no control, and I need to stop wrestling for the reins.
God is my vision and only God is in control. As the old hymn says, “Be thou my vision…”
