This is very touching. I am a wife of a Marine that served in Iraq. Some of the most beautiful, heartfelt things I have written, were written while he was gone. It was my way of letting the Lord work through me. I would encourage you to do the same. Pour out your heart in order to keep your chin high and your trust in the Lord. You never know what other mother, what other wife out there, may be reading this and living through the same thing. Your words can give hope and healing.
I can so relate to this piece. My son was in Iraq too and my lips were constantly whispering in faith. Keep your head high and never cease to have faith in our Heavenly Father because He will see you through this. God Bless You and I send a great big thank you to your dear son for standing guard and doing his all to protect our country.
I have a great deal of respect for our men and women who are sacrificing everything for our country's sake. My father is a retired Marine so I have a special place for the Marines. Great article and God bless!
Amen. Bring them all home safe.

Thank you. With tears in my eyes I write this. God bless you for being a military mom.

Keep writing, and I'll keep praying for them all to come home safe.

As I read this, I feel that there is a poem hiding in it. The movement of the words suggests the rhythm of poetry. Try it.

God bless you and your family. Stand tall; you should be very proud. My husband is in the Navy, and it has made me very proud and very patriotic. I feel a real fellowship with others who have loved ones in the military. I hope you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. May God bless your writing (It's therapeutic). May God bless your son.
Your story is a personal testimony to the Supreme will of God, it reminds me of Jesus's parable of the good Samaritan from Luke's gospel 10:30-37 only your son is not being cared for on his own, he is rather fighting to get back home and being cared for by certain soldiers of different or equal rank in the army. It inspires me to pray for national armies.
