How Many Times

How many times do I have to fall
Before I learn to stand?
How many times do I have to fall
Before I take hold of Jesus' hand?

How many times do I have to drink this cup
Of bitter days and lonely nights
Before I find Jesus is holding me up?
Only He can help me through my plights.

How many tears must I shed?
How many days before I let pride go?
How many nights of tossing in my bed
Before I realize Jesus loves me so?

He is the one who picks me up
And speaks with a comforting voice.
He teaches me always to look up;
He urges me to make the choice.

To make him Lord of my life,
To talk to Him each coming day,
To lay down all my strife,
For He took it all at Calvary.
