In my years of travel
Across our beautiful land
Seen mountains so very high
And walked by seas in sand.
Heard birds on the wing
And saw other wildlife too,
Drove horses and fed calves,
Petted kittens and heard cows moo.
Stood by a gurgling stream
And on a breezy hill;
Seen old foundation stones
That once were someone's mill.
Held babies in my arms
And enjoyed seeing them grow.
Saw other friends leave us
To stand on the other side in God's glow.

So long, my friend, child or kin.
You will be missed for a while,
But know we will meet again!
What piece we feel deep inside,
When old things pass away --
What comfort to know
We will all be together again someday.
When we know Jesus as friend,
Trials and tribulations seem small.
When we think of the blessings,
And the happy times we recall.
What a joy to know the Lord
And realize what he did for you and me,
What he went through
The day he died at Calvary.
The promises he made,
For those that will follow him --
It's quite a comfort.
When our world seems to cave in.
We can look forward to the day
We can stand in his kingdom
And expect as we stand there
To hear him say, "Well done!"
