"Eloi Eloi Lama Sabacthani" HE cried
Hanging on for dear life as the pain seared Him?
"My Father, My Father, why have You foresaken Me?
To which no reply came.

Too often we cry out the same,
"My God, why have You foresaken me?"
To which we get the same reply
"I have not foresaken you My child?"

Eloi Eloi is a cry too often heard
But wait a minute, God is there listening
Waiting to say nothing till the job is finished
"Wait My son, the job is not done."

"Cry not My child, the pain is for a while,"
That is the way He felt in the silence of hours.
God is near, never too far away.
"Hold on, My child, I Am finishing the work."

"Eloi Eloi, My child, it is not over yet."
God loves you, hold on dearly,
Though He seems far, He will soon say:
"It is finished, Tetelestai the debt is paid in full
