"He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house " (Proverbs 07:08)

In the 6th Chapter of Proverbs Solomon discusses the problems and consequences of wrong moral choices. In the 7th Chapter, this one, he illustrated his earlier admonitions with the story of a young man and a married women rendezvousing for a night of sex. The woman is portrayed as a designing, plotting, unfaithful wife who is determined to seduce the young man. The young man is shown as a fool who is following his feelings rather than his principles. The fruit of such an evening is not bliss, but loss, destruction and possible death. Gee, you say, this is supposed to be a Bible lesson. It is! Scripture is about learning the truth in all of life, and sexual temptation and relationships are as old as mankind. This plain talk is designed to equip the Lord's people with real world knowledge and guidance. The advice is old, but still relevant and true. The bottom line is always that the Lord's way is the best way for you and me.
