God’s Little Reminders


Over at U A B in Birmingham
After eight hours of surgery
For cancer, they stood me
Two days later upon my feet
I could not move on my own
Then...I saw a puppy
In the bathroom

I moved my right foot
And began to walk
Then, poof, the puppy was gone
He was my 5 month old puppy
Who was at my home

Now, four years later
When my Chihuahua, Petey
Sits at my feet
In my own bathroom

I look down at him
And realize
This is always
A little reminder
From God
That He took care of me.

There are many other reminders
That I will write about later
But this one thing I can say
No one better bother
My Chihuahua!
