The Word of God, by some, we're told,
Must be upbeat for relevance---
Slick thieves have crept into the fold---
Wool-covered new age celebrants!!
Saying, "dumb it down, harmonize,
Who needs those old, outdated views?
Don't preach sin or blood sacrifice,
Now, God is doing something new."
They try hard to placate the lost,
Preach conversion without a price;
Once, sinners had to count the cost;
They keep all now and add on Christ!
Saints of God, this must be opposed!
We must contend for Gospel truth---
Not straining gnats, as some suppose---
No minor gripe or trite dispute:
If the tree roots should be destroyed,
It would cut off life-giving sap:
Rise from sleep! Let us be deployed
To turn this godless onslaught back!

"Also, from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves. Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears. And now brethern, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among those who are sanctified." Acts 20:30-32. N K J.
