Marriage

I imagined I was in a candy store
like those from times of old
where big glass jars held so much candy
and for a penny each was sold!

These were different somehow,
they had paper wrappers that had a glow
and on each one there was a word,
your feelings with candy you could show!

I took all the ones whose wrappers said 'love'
and all those that said 'happiness'
for they'd be mine to give to you,
to celebrate our bliss!

I took some 'fun' and some 'laughter' too,
all such tasty treats,
and put them into a heart-shaped box
for my love I had yet to meet!

Then I saw you coming there,
and my heart just knew,
that all the candies I would share from now on,
would all be shared with you!

You had a heart-shaped box of your own,
and it was filled with candies too,
and together we spelled out those lovely words
and shared the sweet "I LOVE YOUS"!!

Each day we share a different flavor,
each day it is all brand new,
and there is nothing I'd rather do
than share a lifetime of candy with you!!
