O, Lord, Your grace is like Your mercy,
both are sufficient.
I need nothing else but what You have.
I need nothing but You.

Your patience is enduring,
as is Your love.
I need not to forgive myself
for my past.
Your renewing gives me power
to walk away from it.
Let me not commit such a blasphemous crime
saying, “My mercy excels Yours!
How can Your grace cover my sin?”

I do not need a better view of self.
I need to die to it, this is my lot.
What I have is far better:
The image of You,
revealed in Your word.
