I Have A Friend

I have a friend who does not speak ,
Who is silent as the wind,
He Brushes by along the breeze to let me know he’s there
What words can I use to describe,
What wonders of him might I ascribe,
His yearning ear, so longs to hear the burning pain I feel.

He is unseen but yet so real, no imagining of mine,
This friend who is divine, I find
Has shed so many tears,
For me,
These salty tears have rained down throughout the years,
To slowly form the sea
That glisten in the midnight sky
As I look to the heavens and watch him cry.

His pain is mine, for he has taken it from me.
Every fear, every sin, all my insecurities within,
Every tear, every guilt, all that there has ever been.
And music plays all around calling me a fool,
Can’t you see,don’t let this be, set him free,
And let him ascend within your soul
So he may mend your broken heart.

This friend of mine makes mountains low every where I go,
Crushing them to plains of sand as they crumble at his command.
The valley of death he makes level ground,
Lifting it up so my footing is sound.
The crooked path he makes straight.
He scatters the vulture’s overhead,
Refines the soil on witch I walk,
Rips away the thorns with his own hands
So I won’t bleed but he instead.

With a crown of thorns upon his head
And an iron scepter in his hand
When all the world is dark and dreary,
I have a friend with unwavering light
When I feel like I am all alone
When I am overwhelmed to the point of death
And it seems easier to give up, then draw breath.

I have a friend who understands my plight
Who stand his ground and will not take flight
Who stands up tall to one and all
Carrying my cause upon his cross
That gives me and all men pause
Whatever said and whatever done
Whatever remembered or forgotten ...
..in the end..
