He was born in 1935,

destined to be king.

A baby boy from Tupelo,

With hips a song could swing.



His mama knew he’d be alright,

when critics had complaints.

For she knew he was born to bless

the sinners and the saints.



Hound Dog, Love Me, Don’t Be Cruel,

You’ll Never Walk Alone,

Treat Me Nice, Amazing Grace,

The Green Green Grass Of Home.



Now every time his music plays,

I’m captured by his soul

and understand how he got crowned,

the King Of Rock - N - Roll.
