Journey Time

We start this life so very small
Some stay short others grow tall
I found on this journey of mine
Some move forward others stay behind

We have no choice it seems to most
If we’re born Ryherd, Stoner or Yost
When we enter it may not be grand
The words we hear make us fall or stand

Some are beaten down you see
With words, I know it happened to me
You’re no good you’re stupid and dumb
I call you for dinner - you won’t come

You’re ugly you’re fat and lazy too
There is just no hope for you
Some words you see are very mean
In peoples lives those words are seen

I walked slow and wore a frown
Until one day a bible I found
I read words that shouted to me
You’re so precious I died for thee

My Father sent me down to earth
To offer you a second birth
A birth in which you now may grow
Now learn the truth and let it show

I tell you now my life is better
Unto God’s Words I now do cater
When others talk - I just say quit
Say, “What does God say about it?”

I now thank God each and every day
For showing me good words to say
I found forgiveness for every crime
I now enjoy my journey time
