Marriage

I watched one day as I watered the plants,
and poured a little water in,
when I went back to look, I found
I needed to water them all again

I kept this up til I saw the water
flow out from the bottom of the pots,
and then I knew I had done enough
more than enough, I'd given them a lot!

It made me think of how our love
is like a plant that grows;
but every day I need to tend it so
more blooms and leaves it will show

I water it every day with my heart,
pouring in all of my love,
I don't hold back, it takes it all,
a gift that needs giving, this wonder from above

After I water my plant of love,
I go back again and again,
to admire the blossoms, polish the leaves,
the joy and beauty seep deep within

Every day I ask God to bless
our plant with His heavenly dew
and bring it and put it into your heart
with a whispered "I LOVE YOU!"

We're creating a garden, you and I
and God helps us along the way;
to nurture and water and bless the growth
of our love, deeper with each passing day

Every day a new flower, fresh with dew,
given from our Father above,
to give to blossom in each other's hearts,
a gift beyond price, this gift of love!
