Think about this New Years Eve
It's a time for joy & elation
A time to Rejoice & be happy
Of cheers and celebration

Of looking forward to the next year
Of plans & resolutions
Trying to forget past wrongs and faults
Find answers and solutions

The cleaning of the slate
The starting of a new year
The time for something new
To be with ones you hold dear

Making choices to break habits
To make your life better still
To get out of the rut that you're in
And stand firm upon life's hill

Change your path, your direction
That life is going in right now
So that it is full of joy & hope
But you're not sure of what or how

Reflect upon this whole year through
On all the things that mattered most
On happy times and times of meaning
And loved ones your heart holds close

New years is a time for saying farewell
To the year that has passed by
Whether good or bad or just in between
Put it to rest and don't cry

If it was bad, let it go it's over now
Don't cry over what cannot be changed
Reflect on what you have learnt this year
Whether good, or bad or strange

Life is about the journey
It's never about beginnings or end
Appreciate and experience life
The hurts & pains God will mend

But if this year was happy for you
There was much for which to rejoice
Then be happy and appreciate it
To be thankful & Praise is your choice

Don't make resolutions you can't keep
Or promises too high to maintain
Just try in life to do your best
Peace and contentment you will gain

Strive to be the best you can be
Be kind and help your neighbour out
By the end of next year you'll know
What this life is truly all about

No person can be an island
They need people by their side
So when the raging storms do come
They can stand against the tide

But most of all this new years
Don't forget to thank our God
For whether good or bad times happened
His provision was all around
