In the quietness of a room
Eyes stare of into space
Thoughts of life & meaning
Far away from this place

Searching for some meaning
Something to grasp onto
Thinking about hopes & dreams
Wanting to know if they'll come true

Life becomes so complicated
Simplicity lost in many plans
Life holds no guarantees for us
All details lie within God's hands

Too often taken for granted
Sight, touch, hearing & walking
These things are never treasured
Just imagine you not talking

We neglect to thank God
For the little things in life
Then wonder & ask "why me?"
When we find ourselves in strife

It does not take great effort
To treasure what we've been given
To thank the dear Lord above
For the life that we are living

But new things grow old & comfortable
We forget what we have and the feeling
When these things were new to us
And now they've lost their meaning

Like love, friendship & salvation
We don't make the effort to
Keep these things as new to us
Each day that we go through

Then we find that when they are gone
We then realize what we've lost
And regret the lack of effort we made
As we quickly count the cost

Love is magical & special
There is nothing like it in this life
Do we tell or show how important to us
Is our special person, husband or wife

What about our closest friends
Do they know how much you care?
Do you tell them how you feel?
With them is it love & salvation you share

Why do we allow these things?
To grow so cold and stale
We still care, we try our best
But it seems that we have failed

To keep these things so dear to us
Keep them vibrant and new
Hold them dear in our heart
While life we travel through

Don't neglect this day today
To take the time aside
To tell someone you care about
How you feel deep inside

It is risky to bear your soul
To another person so close
But that information can change their life
And be the thing they treasure most

Don't take life for granted
Rather take it by the horns
Treasure each moment dearly
Whether happiness or scorns

Because life is about the journey
Not the beginning or the destination
Live so that at the end of your life
You can look back and see its completion

You did the best that you could do
Treasured the good times, but not the strife
You enjoyed the friendship & love
From all the people in your life

But I must confess that I missed one thing
That there is a greater destination
That is more important than all of this
And that is for eternal salvation

For eternal life that's spent with God
In heaven for eternity through
That's the greatest treasure we must seek
For everyone, not just you

Accept Jesus into your heart
Don't wait for a sign today
Because He will show you how to start
To live your life the right way

He came to give us abundant life
To make it an experience to enjoy
So start to change your thoughts & actions
You will find that life will be a joy

The people and things in your life
Will hold their importance and meaning
When you reach the end of your life
The happiness on your face will be gleaming
