My Daddy's Hand

On His thumb, there's the imprint of the world begun
With His index finger, He points to each of us and blesses us with a gift
With His middle finger, He stands in the midst of your situation
and invokes peace where there was chaos
With His ring finger, He blesses His daughters with a husband
and His sons with a wife
With His pinky, He reminds us that the smallest of us,
often have the greatest responsibilty

When He holds my hand , I'm His little girl,
no matter how old I am
When He tucks me in, He gives me visions and dreams
With one touch of His hand, I can do anything
At those times when I lost my way, stumbled or fell down,
it was His hand that stretched open to lift me off the ground
With His hands, He molded us and made us,
shapes us and changes us and in His palm lies my heart
He is no ordinary man
So I'll die today, to live today to keep holding on to my daddy's hand.
