Marriage

I imagined walking along the shore the waves come in, one by one
there is something so comforting about that, they're always coming, but they're never done.

Sometimes they come in so wild and free, kicking up foam in their wake,
other times so silent they tiptoe in, hardly a mark do they make.

It made me think of all the wonders in my life, the blessings that endlessly come to me, and large or small, I thank God for them all, for it's only through Him that they came to be.

I remember so well that huge, crashing wave that came to wash over me,
when I had just whispered for Someone to help, how He answered that heartfelt plea.

Then for a time, it was endless small waves, His grace abounding in my life,
smoothing the way, bringing me hope, wiping out sorrow and strife.

Then one day another huge wave, this one a joyous gift from above, and this time when it washed over me, it brought me you, and with you, came love.

Now it feels like I always play in the waves, in His grace is the place to be,
for there is found such wondrous peace, and now we share it, you and me!

I walk by the shore, the waves run over my feet, the wonder and happiness are ever new, and I dance for the sheer joy of it all my dreams have come true because of you!
