Have we lost our amazement at the working of God? It is his amazing grace that saves our souls. It is his amazing healing hand that restores our health. In the passage above, he touched a man incapable of walking and that man rose up and walked home.
Each new day is amazing when you consider that if God should remove his hand from our carefully ordered solar system, we would, in an instant, vaporize or freeze as the sun veers uncontrollably toward or away from us.
The order of life on earth is amazing; each leaf, bud and blossom subject to his perfect timing. It is only the willingly blind that balk at such loving watchcare. The restless sea is amazing in knowing its boundaries as it mounts its pounding advance on the shore.
Have we lost our amazement at the working of God? If we open ourselves to amazement, it is fitting that glorification of our amazing God follows. In the glorifying we are overtaken by a healthy and worshipful fear that reveals to us our obvious station in this life. He is God. "I stand amazed in his presence."
