Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Psalm 30:5b

Sometimes it seems as though the night will never end...ask the parent who sits by the bedside of a sick child. It has been said, "if they can only make it through the night." Often with morning comes renewed hope and the light brought by the day seems to reach right into the downcast, darkened heart.
We, who know the Lord, can be assured that day will come and when it does, "there shall be no night"(Rev.21:25); and with the light will also come "joy unspeakable and full of glory." (I Peter 1:8) So we endure. Tears are temporary, joy is eternal. While appropriating and resting on his promises now we can catch a glimmer of that light everlasting. Even the smallest ray shining in the darkest night can bring renewed hope. It lifts the soul and sets the eye looking toward that eternal daybreak that will greet us when these hours of darkness are passed. When we walk with the Lord we are ever in the light, however encroaching the night around us.
