She watched as she saw them fly
with outstretched wings high in the sky
They flew across the river shore
she watched them as their spirits soared
With saddened eyes that filled with tears
she’d long to fly for many years
But know matter how hard she tried
her broken wing would not let her fly

All she wanted was half a chance
to build her nest on the highest branch
Of the highest tree on the highest hill
for that was her dream she wanted fulfilled
Her spiritual wing was fragile and weak
the prospect of flying became very bleak
She fluttered about and continued to try
but her broken wing would not let her fly

Then one day the most beautiful dove
sent her a message of faith and love
Please don’t worry my feathered friend
have faith in God and your wing will mend
Joy will replace your heart filled sorrow
and you’ll have hope of a bright tomorrow
Just flap those wingsand you will fly high
with that broken wing that would not let you fly


She decided that she’d trust and believe
that this was the day that she’d receive
Her healing in which she had waited so long
she would finally soar, and sing her song
With faith she decided to give it a try
and her broken wing indeed let her fly
She took off flying with great delight
all the other birds were amazed at her flight

She soared, twirled, turned and dived
she circled about with such God given pride
On a big hill, on a high branch of a big tree
she displayed her nest for all to see
She learned to always follow her dreams
for God had healed her broken wing
