I sat one night, working on a bead project, with beads, a needle and a long silken thread,
totally immersed in what I was doing, trying to follow what the pattern said,

Everything was going along nice and smooth, the beads falling each into their place in the row, when all of the sudden, the thread made a knot, and all I could think was 'oh no!'

The silk thread is so fine, the knot was just tiny, and getting it out would be a chore,
but get it out I had to do, for until then I could work no more.

I picked and picked with the needle point, trying to find the right part to pull away, to coax the knot into relaxing its hold, before it was totally frayed.

Sometimes with enough work, the knot would come free, but the part of the thread where it had been, was from then on the weakest point endangering all the hard work up till then.

It made me think of my life long ago before Jesus came into my heart, when I strung my days like beads on a thread, thinking I could do all the parts.

But life often got tied in a knot, and I would try to get it undone, and struggle for days to work things free, to just get back where I had come from.

Too often the knots could not be undone, I would just hide them inside a new bead, and think that I had made it through, that there was nothing more that I would need.

There came a time when my life was so tangled, it all was just knots, with no pattern at all, and I finally whispered, 'please help me' - and Jesus heard that faint call.

He rescued me, and picked up my threads, and cut the knots out, throwing them away, and strung my beads on the lifeline of His love, from now on they would never go astray.

His love was now ran through the center of my life, the one I was given anew, and a different pattern began to emerge, one that was beautiful and true.

Then God added to the pattern, a new element of His own design, for He wanted to grant the desire of my heart, to give me a love for all time.

That was when I first met you, and so quickly fell deeply in love, and God's pattern for us entwined us together, a wondrous gift sent to us from above.

Now the knots that come into our lives, are untied with Jesus' love and grace, and each day we add new beads of love, to the pattern God has put in place.

Each one is strung on the thread with such joy, doing its part to spell out what's true, that every bead strung on each day, says the same thing, 'I love you!'
