HOPE

Oh sinner won't you come and hear, the words God has to say?
He only wants to draw you close and save your soul today
Perhaps you've heard that He is Holy and how He hates your sin
You may feel there is no hope, for He knows where you've been

But I ask you please to read, this message to its end
Because although you'll read of wrath and wages for your sin
You'll also read of God's great love and how he wants to spare
Spare you from His Holy wrath, so read on if you dare


Yes it's true, our God is Holy - this truth I'll not withhold
The Bible says His eyes are pure and sin cannot behold
It tells us of a separation, that our sin has caused
And how we all are guilty, of breaking all His laws

We're even told He's angry, with sinners every day
And how like sheep we've wandered and each gone his own way
We're told there is none righteous - no not even one
And death will be our wages, for all that we have done

Are you still listening sinner, or have I frightened you?
I'm sorry, I must tell you, everything that's true
The wrath of God is coming and will not tarry long
On all who are unrighteous and all who love what's wrong

Those who cling so tightly, to this life they cherish
Will find it all for naught, when on that day they perish
But you say, "I've tried my best - is that not good enough?"
Our God demands perfection, though I know that sounds too rough

Now what is that I heard you say, you believe that God is one?
Yes so do all the devils, but freedom they've not won
But now it's time we turned the page, before your heart turns hostile
It's time now for some good news and time you heard the gospel

Hear the words of Jesus, when others were dismayed
They asked, what you are asking, "who then can be saved?"
He said, "with man it cannot be, but God can do all things"
By His plan, the wayward sheep, into His fold He brings

Come now let us reason, our God wants you to know
Your sins may be as scarlet - He'll make them white as snow
God says come and bring your sin, and I will give you rest
I'll separate it from you, as far as east from west

For there was one Who lived life Holy - One who passed the test
One who lived unto His Father and gave Him all His best
God took this Holy Righteous One and made Him to be sin
He offers you His Righteousness and seeks your heart to win

It was for you on Calvary's Cross, in shame He bore God's wrath
He took your deadly wages and forged for you a path
You see the Father loved us so, He gave His only Son
If only you'll believe on Him, Eternal Life you've won

You say, "but that's so simple - Is there no work to do?"
Jesus said "just hear my words, believe that they are true
The very moment you believe, from death to life you'll pass
No judgment will befall you, you will be free at last"

Oh sinner please believe Him - He is the only way
In Him we have redemption, so be redeemed today
Reach out to Him your hand of faith - receive this gift of grace
He is a Mighty Savior, Who longs your soul to save

"But what if I can't live it?" I think I heard your cry
"What if I can't measure up, no matter how I try?"
There's more good news Oh sinner - more good news to know
He'll give to you a pure white robe, because He loves you so

It is a robe of Righteousness, to cover all your shame
Provided by that Holy One and Jesus is His name
Though it won't fit you well at first, you will grow into it
You'll grow empowered by a Friend, God's own Holy Spirit

So now you've heard God's story and now it's up to you
Oh sinner, harden not your heart, believe that it is true
With your heart you must believe and that brings Righteousness
With your mouth you must confess, bringing Life and Blessedness

So now this is the moment to choose what you will do
Will you choose the way of death, or Life He offers you?
He's standing at your heart's door and knocking tenderly
If you will open He will come and there He'll always be!
