FORSAKEN

Father God I've wondered why
You left Him there ALONE to die
But yet I know it had to be
You've helped me now this truth to see

For when you TURNED away from Him
You also TURNED from all my sin
With cruel thorns pressed to His head
He hung and died there in my stead

Now I am free from Holy wrath
As joyfully I walk this path
Today you do not count my sins
Because He died and rose again

But God forbid that I would live
In all that sin you did forgive
Far greater joys are mine today
As by Your side I walk and stay

You FORSOOK Him in that hour
So I might have Your Holy power
Power to FORSAKE my sin
And TURN my face toward You through Him
