Heart Treasures

Do you give good advice?
I used to invite others to church. I used to tell them that God was good and that He could bring joy to their lives. I told many people that the most important decision in their life was to receive Jesus as their savior. And one good day I realized that I needed to take my own advice. The truth I shared with others was not my own. I knew God through the experiences of others, but had not made Him my Lord and Savior. I knew Him from a distance, but that changed with one simple prayer. Alleluia! I asked Him to be my God and I thanked Him for the assurance of His love and the forgiveness my sins. Later on that week at Sunday School I publicly accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
For many people I was just a 12-year-old girl, but God took me seriously. He is a personal God. Receiving Him as my personal Savior has turned out to be the most important decision of my life. *Sometimes the best advice we can receive is the one we freely give to others. Do you truly know God as your personal God and Savior? If you don’t - a simple prayer from your heart is all it takes.
