Someone Might Need Me

Someone might need me to talk to today.
I must be ready to hear what they say.

I must lay my own problems down for a while
in case my friend needs a reason to smile.

Of my own attitude I must be constantly aware.
If I'm caught up in troubles, then how can I care?

God gave me two ears and one mouth, you see.
That means more listening and less talking
for someone in need.

Lord, help me to listen and watch what I say
in case someone might need me to talk to today.
