The Joshua Generation

When I close my eyes and think about Jesus.
I say to myself, what can I do to please ya?
For hanging on the cross from the sixth to the ninth hour.
Knowing all along, your father had the releasing power.
For wearing the crown of thorns they placed on your head.
If you hadn't God said, I'd surely be dead.
For the beating they lavished upon your body.
Paying the wages of sins for the HUMBLE and the HIGH AND MIGHTY.
You gave sight to the blind, healed the sick, and clothed the poor.
But we have the nerve to not answer when they knock at our door.
We walk right by Your children, as they lay in the street.
Saying, take a bath, get a job, you're just a deadbeat.
What can I do to please ya, is what I need to know?
I tossed and turned in my sleep, then he told me where to go.
He sent me to the Word, which is the Holy Bible.
I was drawn to the book, with Joshua as the title.
Joshua was a man of true faith, obedience and lived by Gods commands.
When God said go, he went, to fulfill his father's plans.
See Joshua believed God, when he said, "I am with thee wherever you go".
Knowing that, Joshua went on, to shout down the walls of Jericho.
Joshua was of good courage, no dismay, and he kept the faith.
He boldly stood on the Word, and he didn't hesitate.
The Lord was with Joshua and his fame was noised throughout.
I know now, how to please him without a doubt.
God needs soldiers who will go to all nations.
Full of faith, courage, well a whole new generation.
A generation of Joshuas, in full force ready to fight.
Keeping the Word, shouting boldly, bringing the lost to the light.
A generation of truth, faith, and love.
Forsaking self, and giving all honor and praises above.
A generation of healing, prosperity, and success.
Gifts they inherited from Jesus, and won't settle for less.

Joshua stated "Choose today whom ye will follow".
I choose Jesus, my Savior, my hope for tomorrow.

So the next time someone ask me what is my religious denomination?
I'll shout boldly, "I want to be a part of the Joshua Generation"!
