I remember seeing a painting of a house on a hill with tall trees all around; the branches were all stripped of their leaves and the snow lay deep on the ground.

It was a study in stark contrast, black, brown and gray against white, silent and hushed under a leaden sky, it was a pretty but somber sight.

It seemed like all the life had drained out, taking the colors along, and nothing would disturb the scene, not a breath of air, or a note of birdsong.

Then I imagined what a change there would be if just one thing was painted in, if the sun was added to the clouds in the sky, the whole picture would be lit
from within.

The light would make the snow sparkle and shine, like a carpet of jewels laying there, and it would find all the subtle color in the trees, trembling with life in the crisp winter air.

The feeling of the painting would no longer be sad, a study in light and dark; it would be shimmering with anticipated joy, soft and inviting, not cold and stark.

It made me think of each day we have, like a painting waiting to be done; we
have the brush already in our hand, our words and deeds are the colors we add one by one.

I would brush a background of love and joy, making the picture sparkle and shine, and then I would add al the tiny details, painting in all the blessings that are mine.

Clouds full of hope would fill the sky, the trees would be bursting with dreams yet to be, and them birds would fly with reckless abandon, exuberant with the joy of being free.

Over all in the picture would be the golden Sonshine, touching everything and making it glow, for only in Jesus can this happiness be complete, only in Him can we truly know.

Each day I look forward to a new painting to complete, for new joys and love are mine anew, and each day the painting is another expression of the love that I have for you.

Each painting is a masterpiece because I am yours, God made my dream come true; and together we're making a gallery of love, paintings of love forever renewed.
