Just driving into my driveway I rushed into the house to miss the impending storm catching me in its whirlwind of rain and wind. As I sit here now I realize the spiritual application of my actions.

Many times when we see the wind and rain of the Holy Spirit we rush to get out of the way. This is caused by fear and the unknown. Very much like a physical storm can cause us to hide and protect ourselves from its affects, we tend to clench our teeth and hope that the greatest and latest spiritual movement is from God and not man as it passes by our doorpost.

I was speaking to someone the other day when we began to talk about signs and wonders. This person was telling me that their church did not seek after them. Then this person went on to say, “If we do not seek signs and wonders than nothing will ever happen in our midst.” I disagreed with her. I told her “When we obey God’s Word by grounding the believer’s in the basics of His powerful scripture, signs and wonders will naturally follow.”

Many churches miss the mark big here because they are looking for the presents of God and not the presence of God. Did Jesus say seek ye first all my gifts and wonders and they shall be added unto you? No! He said,

"But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things
will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33).”

There are many wonderful commentaries that bestow the wisdom of this scripture in an applicable way. In short, I believe if we truly seek after Gods righteousness and desire nothing else in our lives but His favor, it will become all that we choose to seek. In doing so, we will find remission for our sin and revelation of the mysteries of His glorious wonders.

Are you seeking God because of what He can do for You? Then ask God to change your heart to one that seeks His kingdom. When we truly seek His kingdom, He is then free to bestow upon us His most perfect will and power in our lives. When His power is bestowed upon us, we will naturally see signs and wonders. May our prayer be one that simply says, “Lord, I need you more!”
