My heart and soul must say I'm handling it well
in seeing that I am still afloat
I could have bailed out, and I had my doubts
while sharks had me at the throat

It looks like they always want me for their bait
they just got to have me to eat
Why don't they go another way my soul doth say
no they like to swim on my beat

There is nibbling and biting on my every side
not one break will they give to me
I must be prime stock, and look good to taste
this is what my soul does see

I recall sending out a call for a ship rescue
had it laid out on the line
But still no reply as the hours went on by
and now it's just me and time

But O' ship you know well that tides will turn
so strengthen your anchor some more
Raise your masts of faith up a little bit higher
and keep your eyes toward the shore

Meanwhile go reach into the hearts bag of humor
so to get a little help on the way
And believe that God is smiling along with you
as you face each in-coming day

Now the little soul ship is rocking to and fro
picking up water on each run
And the more you bail out, the more comes in
to face you each rising sun

Lord I'm doing all I can to not complain
I really want to see it through
So be patient with me while I ride it out
and wait when my time is due

The only reason I ask is because of those sharks
their pity they don't have none
If it was left up to them, they'd take me under
and will laugh after it was done

It does seem a good question to ask at this time
will the tides change or just flow on
The soul ship wants to know when they will cease
and do pray it won't be too long

The ship knows it's the trying of it's faith
and understands the tides of time
For it was built on the words of God
that does give peace to the mind
