For all you Star Wars fans out there (myself included) Padme once said to a distressed Anakin, "Don't shut me out, let me help."

Maybe we can't always confide in the Padmes in our life, but there is Someone who we should always be able to confide in- first and foremost. The Lord is waiting to hear from you, and He will always listen with perfect hearing.

Often times, I will shut Him out, thinking I can handle my pain, thinking I can fix things. Yet the more I try, the worse I feel. And just when I reach the point of tears (and punching my pillow) I lower my defenses and start talking to God. Merely saying the word, "Lord," instantly calms me down and brings me into the warm shelter of Jesus. Just like putting on a Band-Aid, the pain melts away and is replaced with hope. I am left with an assurance that things will be just fine with my Lord handling them.

So, the only conclusion I have come to is that the Lord is the only one who can provide true solutions and true comfort. If saying one word to Him can bring instant relief, imagine what an entire conversation would do. If you have a problem, don't run to TV, books, or ice cream (as I often do) but find a blanket and start talking with Jesus. You can tell Him anything.
