Shackles that bind,
Chained like chattel,
Oh, hope to find
A way out.
Weary is lost,
Pain ensues,
Oh, what is the cost
Of freedom?

I yearn for an answer,
I yearn for peace.
That hole in my chest;
I try to ease.
I need a deliverer
To rescue my heart;
I need a savior
To set me apart.

I have tried it all
To take my place
On top pride
And save my face,
But nothing works,
Nothing stands,
The world is empty
Of life’s demands.

I have found the answer,
I found the peace.
That hole in my chest,
Jesus eased
He is my deliverer
That rescued my heart,
He is my savior
That set me apart.

God, You are my comfort.
God, You are my light.
You shine in the darkness,
You bring hope in the night.
When I look for strong refuge,
You meet me where I am.
You hold onto my life
And take me by my hand.

So, I praise You.
I lift You up
And praise You.
I praise You.
