Humor
The things that I now think of and smile
The things that I now think of and laugh
Who would’ve thought, that a short trip could be such a trial?
Who would’ve thought that we would start our trip with Worship Rap?
Head banging to amuse a baby boy
Face making at kids who wanted to play
Chick flick movies brought tears and joy
Fellowship, Worship what a glorious day
The interstate felt like a parking lot
We had a very close call with a bus
We talked a lot, but not in deep thought
And you know what, not one of us fussed
We had the most amazing time
We were joined closer together
The Spirit filled our bodies and minds
Our friendships changed, for the better
Trying to leave a place filled with 4000 drivers, all female
Took what seemed like days
Our spirits were high and they would not fail
We laughed and laughed praising the Lord all the way
The time still drug on as we left to go eat
Traffic, and more there was no end
We all kept on laughing, life is so sweet
What a blessing to have such godly friends
Sitting at the restaurant, waiting for over an hour
Sharing everything, even bathroom talk
Our relationships all bloomed to that of a rare flower
Each of us with wonderful hands to hold, in our Christian walk
I could go on, about the traffic again
And all the times the baby had us stop
This trip we went on without our men
And not once did we go shop!
I love these ladies, my sisters in Christ
I had such a wonderful time
I gladly would do this over again
Traffic and all, the experience is still mine
This was written following a 400 mile trip to Colorado Springs last year. There were 6 women ranging from 20 to 50 and my 5 month old son Michael. We ended up spending the most of the time it tooks us to get to Colorado Springs, parked on the interstate in Denver!
We nearly got clipped by a bus, and if God didn't have His gracious foot on the break peddle we would have had a quite serious accident, as we were in bumber to bumper traffic!
The bathroom talk mentioned, was exactly that! While we waited for almost 2 hours for our dinner (they lost our order!)we all shared our most embarassing moments, of course with women they are almost all bathroom type experiences!
A lot of things went "wrong" but God's mighty hand was in the whole thing, and all we could do was laugh! Praise God, Praise Him for our time on the parking lot (oops I mean I-25) Where we befriended some very fun children, (we spent our 5 mile an hour driving time making faces at each other out the window!), The time we spent trying to leave the conference, getting lost, having to wait for two hours to eat, pulling over in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming in the middle of the night, to soothe a baby who just wouldn't quit (come to find out his tummy was upset because he throw up all over the place, and was compared to the girl on the Exorsist!), all these things drew us closer together, not once did anyone complain, all we did was laugh. Our God is an awesome God, and He has an amazing sense of humor!
Oh I could go into such detail about that trip, journey rather, but words can not express the expereince as it felt to all of us. The one thing I learned was to definately appreciate God's humor, and in what seems to be a frustrating moment in our lives, stop and look at it from God's point of view. Hopefully the next time your 3 year old locks you out of the house during a snow storm, while you are wearing only a robe and your hair is in rollers; you would be able to think about how funny a story you could write down, er a once you find a way back in the house!

Ah... childlike love and laughter. No wonder Jesus so loves the little children. Friend, the older I grow in Christ, the younger I grow in heart. I've got quite a ways to go... but I'm getting there. Life was pretty tough on me, but like I said, I'm growing younger by the day. And the neatest thing is... I laugh! People, I think, forget how blessed laughter can be... sort of like eyesight, the ability to hear, smell, or think clearly. Laughter is necessary to healthy living. I'm so grateful to serve a God with a sense of humor!!!
