I thought about Festus today and tears and a smile came to my face. Festus was a small white dog that would twirl around and sing loudly when you asked him to. Festus was my Uncle Keith and Aunt Betty's dog and always greeted us when we went to visit them. Some of my favorite childhood memories were visiting Uncle Keith, Aunt Betty and Festus.

Aunt Betty was a very nice Aunt who loved things like bowling and hot fudge sundaes. My family would spend holidays with my Uncle and Aunt and Festus would twirl and sing on cue. My Uncle and Aunt loved to bowl and my love of bowling grew partly to that. The day that Aunt Betty died was a sad day for my family and I will never forget it. I was caddying at a local golf course when I got the news that day. It was a sad day indeed.

Now and then when I see Uncle Keith, I think of Aunt Betty. Sometimes when I go bowling or have ice cream, I think of Aunt Betty. Most of all when I think of Aunt Betty, I think of Festus. Festus, that small white dog that would twirl around and sing loudly on cue.
