Poetry
He went to the cross knowing he was going to die.
An awful death for the likes of you and I.
He went to the cross to wash away our sins.
Sins he knew we were going to commit time and time again.
He went to the cross and was beaten beyond recognition.
And by his stipes we are healed, now that's love with no conditions.
When they nailed him to the cross, the blood flowed like a river.
Betrayed by his disciple Judas, crucified for 30 pieces of silver.
Can you imagine how his father felt as he looked down from above?
Watching them mock, beat, and spit on the son he so loved.
He rose on the third day with all power in his hands.
For if he be lifted up he will draw every man.
Are we willing to stand in the gap for one another?
The way Jesus stayed on the cross for his sisters and brothers.
He sacrificed his life for you and I.
We should be willing to serve his father until the day we die.
For he saved our souls when he paid the price.
Now it's free for us to have everlasting life.
