                               Finding Things Unseen

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV

Finding things unseen is our treasure of hope for the promises God makes. One of my favorite passages on unseen hope comes in Romans 8:24-25  For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?  But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. NKJV
Such that looking for things yet unseen or recognized, is God’s promise to us. Having God’s word is our blessed assurance to things still before us.

Jesus is God’s promised hope from the 300 Old Testament prophecies given us. Finding Jesus today, is the evidence, not only for His birth and resurrection, but now at the Father’s right hand to intercede for all our praises and petitions we bring before him through prayer. Hope we can’t feel or see but is true evidence just the same.

Remember what Thomas replied about not believing unless he could see and feel the print of his nails? (John 20:24) We might doubt as did Thomas, but what we have, faith assigned us ( Romans 12:3) is our hope fulfilled.

In our fear and weakness, our hope to things unseen is God’s sufficiency with each new day.  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 RSV

Father, thank you for making things visible we can’t see.
