Jesus In Me Is My Greatest Worth

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:8 ESV 

I shared from another devotional; my greatest worth is the gifted treasure and value of my soul. Far greater than my possessions, material value of  my belongings, or even the treasure and love I have for my family. While the gifted treasure of my soul is paramount, I must recognize whose ‘Personal Property’ I am. That I define my soul as ‘not my possession.’ With my marriage to Jesus, it must be recognized;  Jesus is my ‘surpassing worth.’ Determined by how well I really know Jesus my Redeemer.

To consider all I have to be responsible for is of much lesser importance and value. When I recognize, even my loved ones are God’s possession. I don’t own them just because they are part of me, being responsible for bringing them into this world. I am blessed to nurture and love each and every one of them, but they’re God’s workmanship.
The OJB- Orthodox Jewish Bible says: ‘and I consider them as nothing, in comparison, that I may gain Moshiach. (the anointed one.)

 No, I’m not going to ignore the responsibility I have for my loved ones, as refuse, but my Lord must be ‘first, and foremost!  Sometimes we read words from the English translations that appear inaccurate or cruel, until we look into what I call, ‘Original Intent.’

To put on Christ is to find more and more of His preeminence controlling my mind, will, and emotion. More than my thoughts and feelings. They get in the way of His Spiritual presence working in me.

Father, thank you for helping us truly understand your love to each one of us, as ‘Your Personal Property.’ Having Jesus as our surpassing worth.
