Do you go to GOD first all the time?
Or you go to those who claimed they have the word of knowledge? 
Good to pause and think how often we approach God or if we go to someone else first.
Yes, God does give us different spiritual gifts, we might have friends who are trustworthy at church and they are our 'go-to' in times of needs. Some might be good at receiving the word of God, some might prophecy correctly and we get so impressed by their giftings....

We can be amazed by the different giftings we see in people. Yes and praise God for those gifts. Our God is a generous God, He is th GIVER! He is the GIVER!

Did those gifts in people amaze you?
You feel like going to them to confirm what God has impressed in your heart?
The truth is -- God shows no favouritism. God loves those who seek after Him. God will reveal Himself to those who seek Him. Do you actually believe it yourself? Or you look at others and think they know God better or you think they can affirm you in some way???!!

I heard from friends telling me they go to such an such a person because they have the gift of prophecy - they felt great to ask them again for confirmation or affirmation. They just go to them just in case what they heard was really coming from the Lord himself. 

The danger is - why do we seek people for God's confirmation in our lives??? 
Why would we believe in what people say about us more than the word of God himself in His words? We all have the Holy Bible to read about the words of God and through our reading of His words, we get to know the characters of God. 

If we read through the old testaments, we do see that God can speak to us all.
God is still speaking of course. We are able to hear from God ourselves. We are able to hear Him speaking to us because His holy spirit is within us. Do you know that you are the Holy Spirit living inside you? That's the spirit of God in you. We are His creature and He is our Creator. Surely, our Creator can get His messages across to us directly!

Not all are real prophets sent from the Lord.....
Beware of false prophets who claimed to hear from God....
The warnings of that is all over the new testaments...

1 John 4:1, 

But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.

Mark 13:22,

For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect.

Do not be amazed by the gifts you see in people.
Be amazed that the Holy Spirit is working actively in our lives instead.
Put God first, Seek Him first and foremost.
God first - God is the one we seek, our 'go-to' at all times!

He alone is trustworthy, He alone will reveal Himself to us all.
You are not exempted from that at all.
Spend time with the Lord - ask Him for clarity on things you do not understand. Quiet yourself down before the Lord, He will surely show up and speak to you. Amen.

Colossians 1:18 (NLT)
“Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body… So he is first in everything.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 (NLT)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”

Psalm 37:4 (NLT)
“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”

Repent - if you have relied on another human being more than God...take note of who you 'go to' first when troubles strike you....and you will know either you have put your focus elsewhere or not. From now on, let's go to God in everything - God is our place of safety always. People can fail us, we too as human beings can fail others. The only faithful one has always been our God, our Heavenly Father. AMEN. Let us not worship any created things, let us worship and adore our God wholeheartedly. AMEN.
