                               Purchasing Wisdom

The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
 and whatever you get, get insight. Proverbs 4:7 ESV

One might look at this verse and think, ‘How Redundant!’  But let’s consider the ‘Big Picture’ as one might say. As  a follower of Jesus, we become His ‘Personal Property.’ Recognizing His ownership, and the admonition God desires us not to be conformed to the standard to this world. Discern the half-truth we hear from media, it  just might be the wrong half! Social media commentators put out what is usually their bias thoughts what they want you to believe. Whether conservative or liberal commentators. The danger here is we become part of what we feed on. Just as a person’s natural appearance determines what kind of diet they consume and how much one might exercise. So too, does one’s perspective on his or her own thoughts determine a worldly or Heavenly mindset.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. With my whole heart I seek you;
 let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalms 119:9-11

I have personally over most of my 71 plus years, when I first accepted Jesus as a youth of high School, put much of God’s word in my heart that I might not sin against Him. God who created and loves me more than I’ll ever understand, desires I not be inhibited or intimidated what we witness all around us. My years of preaching and writing God’s love, also was to bring to light our need of Godly wisdom by possessing the ‘Sword of the Spirit’ in my heart.  
(Ephesians 6:10-17)

Father, with your word in my heart you have given me Your Sword against all the principalities of what surrounds me every day. Purchasing your wisdom is the best purchase I ever made, and without cost, Amen
