Who Is Behind This?

The United States of America has become an illustration of an oxymoron. Instead of perpetuating unity, America has become a seething petri dish of diversity. The “red, white, and blue” is being flagged as divisive, while the flags of opposition flutter in the breeze.  Politicians seem more interested in promoting their agendas than in representing the people who elected them.  It has been over 161 years since the American Civil War, and now a sequel is in the making.  What is behind this new and improved insurrection? 

The Bible makes it clear that Satan is the mastermind behind the insurgents’ quest to turn our nation from Under God to a country without God.  Scriptures tell us that Satan is the “god of this world.” (II Corinthians 4:4) he is also called the “ruler of the world” (John 14:39 and the “prince of this world.” (John 12:31) When Satan faced off with Jesus in the Battle of the Wilderness (Luke 4) it was for the dominance of the earth’s kingdoms. (Luke 4:5, 6)  Satan was soundly defeated and left the battlefield, “promising” a rematch.  He thought that if he would “smite the Shepherd,” Jesus’ followers would scatter in fear.  (There is a similarity to Satan’s tactic today.  If he could upend the duly elected President of the United States, the road to chaos would be the road most traveled.)  Ever since Jesus returned to His Heavenly Throne, His followers have been a roadblock to Satan’s total rule. Sadly, due to the inconsistencies of the Church, Satan is still alive and well.  He has used the same tactic that he used against Jesus, mainly bringing division to whatever societal group would stand in his way.  Jesus recognized this tactic and prayed that Believers would “be one” as He and the Father were. (John 17:21)  Divide and conquer is the battle cry of Satan’s army.

The unrest in our country is a direct result of spiritual powers and principalities dedicated to establishing Satan’s kingdom. (Ephesians 6:12)  By failing to recognize Satan’s role of mental, physical, and spiritual control, we have allowed His kingdom to metastasize throughout the world.  When the media fails to identify the real cause of anarchy, they will revert to “gaslighting” their viewers to support their own agendas.

Jesus warns that if a nation is “Divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” (Mark 3:24)  Abraham Lincoln, in 1858, used Jesus’ words in warning the country of its potential demise.  There is a fraction within our Country that is spearheading a movement to destroy our “One nation under God.”  The anti-government movement is operating under the disguise of a political movement, when it is actually an anti-God movement.  Many of the people involved in societal uprisings are recruited through emotional rhetoric.  Much of the jargon is based on erroneous and distorted reporting.  Instead of people taking time to understand what they are protesting, they follow the mob.

The Scriptures point out 17 characteristics of Satan’s kingdom. (Galatians 5:19-21)  As one looks at the insurrectionist, one readily realizes the kingdom of darkness is flexing its muscle.  Satan’s army is unified and equipped to usher in his kingdom.

Christians need to let the light of Jesus expose the darkness behind societal unrest.  When we identify the cause of rebellion, we will be better equipped to face the challenges.  Satan was once thrown out of Heaven and will one day be sentenced to his kingdom of Hell.
