Don’t Forget What You Look Like
By Robert Schaetzle

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. James 1:22-23 ESV

Putting God’s word in our heart enables us to become a ‘better doer’ of  God’s word. For sure our strength of faith increases along with greater confidence of who we are in Christ. The thorns we may bear living out our daily experiences can and will be recognized. because of our changed heart in living for God’s honor. What we do and the way we display ourselves as new creatures in the Lord might cause others to ask.. “What’s happened to him or her?”

God uses thorns to keep us seeking His sufficiency over temptations and anxieties caused by those thorns. From fear over our human emotional thoughts of anger to react. Wanting to become a doer of  God’s word witnesses His Spirit at work. This is evidence to being ‘slow to speak and quick to hear and listen’.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

I want all my children and grandchildren to recognize God’s presence in Grandpa. To understand; God’s ways are so much higher than ours. He who created us know more than we do.

Through Isaiah God said: ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’ Isaiah 55:8-9

Robert serves in a Sharing and Caring Ministry to encourage God’s presence in us

Very nice encouragement. An inspirational read.
