                             Taking Hold Of Jesus

 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. John 15:16 ESV

“We would never know the music of the harp if the stings were left untouched; nor would we enjoy the juice of the grape if t were not crushed in the winepress.” C H Spurgeon

How profound these words are when we consider who we are and ought to be as ‘New Creatures in Jesus.’ (2 Corinthians 5:17) learning to put on the new is our lifelong journey, taking hold of Jesus. We come to be ‘Justified,’ through the work of our Savior on the cross for us. Our purpose is learning what it means for us, to bear fruit. Like listening to the beauty that flows from the hand of one playing the harp, takes practice. As often I share in my writing; ‘practice make improvement!’ So it is, with our pursuit to recognizing what our Lord expects from us.  

By grace through faith, we learn through our journey what the Spirit does from God at work in us. The significance of His choosing us from before the foundation of the world, becoming holy and blameless. (Ephesians 1:4) Our inheritance in Jesus, becomes blessing of growing and learning through the counsel of His will. Holy and blameless is not to be defined as pure, but living in what we do as honorable to reflect God’s love and care.

My purpose is to demonstrate in my living, that others recognize the power of God’s presence and Spirit in me. The world around us is not what I feed on, but recognize being transformed into Christlikeness. Learning to wear the name of my lord for His honor.

Father, I pray, your Spirit instruct me what to petition, for you honor.
