Born Again Is More Than Wearing the Name

So that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. 1 Corinthians 2:5 ESV

When two of my sons and one of my grandsons joined the military, I shared with them; “Now for the next few years you will be property of the U S Military.” My point in saying this was for them to recognize they were not their own! In truth we too, when we come to faith as followers of Jesus, accepting Jesus is so much more than ‘putting on the uniform.!’ Wearing the name of our Lord is to recognize; desire to want Him to lead and bless us through His sufficiency.

 Not to live with my reasoning, nor think our Creator is a “Gimme God.” Believing I’m to receive things of this world to make me ‘Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise.’

God the Father brought to us God the Son, to worship and adore Him. It’s the Father’s design and intent for Jesus to bear our sins for our Redemption. Leaving to us His indwelling Holy Spirit for guidance. To recognize and receive His sufficiency. Living our lives by grace through faith. Faith that God assigns us. Not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought, but by the measure of faith God gives each one of us, who are followers of Jesus. (Romans 12:3)

Being discipled into God’s preeminence over us is better than being busy with ministry! Our Savior wants more than anything for us to have intimacy with Him. More than affection to our spouses, children, grandchildren. The peace that passes all understanding, (Philippians 4:7) is to find the power of His preeminence. The voice of His Holy Spirit, with His infallible (word) working in our hearts. This brings purpose, when the weakness of our flesh, or the darts of evil are thrown at us.

Father, thank you for your abiding presence to lead me.
