“Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer.

Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip.”

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech.” Psalm 17: 4-6

 “By the word of Your lips” – the way of righteousness is made known to me

 “I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer” – the grace of God is given me

 “Uphold my steps in Your paths” – the strength of God is available

 “That my footsteps may not slip” – the security of God supports me

 "I have called upon You" - the invitation of God was given me

"You will hear me" - the ear of God is open to me
